Walks around Llandudno and along the coast to Prestatyn

Thirty walks exploring the landscape and history of the elegant seaside resort of Llandudno, and the beautiful North Wales coast extending east to Prestatyn. Together they offer stunning scenery and views, best appreciated on foot.

Llandudno lies on a peninsula between the impressive Carboniferous limestone headlands of the Great and Little Orme. The Great Orme,  now managed as a Country Park and Nature Reserve and carrying Heritage Coast status, is a fascinating place to explore, famous for its Kashmir goats, Bronze Age copper mines, and Britain’s only cable-hauled road tramway.

The walks visit sites of historic interest including medieval castles, an Iron Age hillfort, a Neolithic burial chamber, ancient churches, manor houses and nature reserves. They feature low limestone hills, woodland, beaches, dunes, town trails, and river estuaries. They include 5 linear walks linked to local bus services following the new Wales Coast Path from Prestatyn to Conwy.
